At first, I hesitated a lot because I’m shy and I didn’t like to speak English in front of other people. But now I don’t regret it at all. The best advice I can give you, is if you have the opportunity to do an Erasmus go for it! You have nothing to lose!
My first Erasmus was in Varde, in Denmark. I had a really good time. I had so much fun meeting new people and learning their cultures and languages. I’m a person who loves to travel to visit new cities. And Varde was a really great place.
In the beginning, I was really nervous and a bit scared because having to communicate with strangers in a foreign language was not easy, but everyone was in the same situation. We were directly mixed with students from the other countries, so we got to know each other very quickly. At the end of the week, we were friends. I met some really amazing people. Even though we were only together for a week, it was hard for some of us to say goodbye.
During this experience, I learned to have more self-confidence. I improved my English because we were always together with international people, so I had to communicate in English.
I will never forget this experience, because it was fun, I learned a lot and I met amazing people. It was a great experience! I hope if one day you do an Erasmus you will enjoy it as I enjoyed it.
