At the end of February and the beginning of March 2019, Liia Vijand (teacher of history and social studies) and Katrin Tikko (teacher of French and Spanish)  travelled to Ireland in order to go on the second structured educational visit of this project. The mobility activities were carried out in Dublin under the guidance of English Matters.

This mobility enabled our two colleagues to familiarize themselves with the Irish educational system as well as learn more about the Irish culture and history. Together with their fellow teachers from other countries, Liia and Katrin visited three local schools, quite different from one another: Desmond College, Loreto College and Dominican College.

We were fascinated to observe daily learning practices at a Catholic girls school and a special needs school. It was quite impressive for us to realize that mental health, consideration and social responsibility were given as much attention as academic brilliance and strict discipline. It made us wonder about how is it possible to perform so well without being pushed by stress, time or grades.

Go raibh maith agat!
